Charles is a professional geographer with experience in forest ecology, GIS/mapping and community engagement. He has provided creative, innovative and community-based solutions to land and marine management since 2004. His educational background includes an MSc in Geography (University of Victoria), and a PhD in Resource Management & Conservation (University of Turku, Finland). Charles is a member of the Society for Conservation GIS and Coordinator of the Common Ground Community Mapping Project. Charles has a particular interest in helping communities create spatial representations (maps) of their assets and visions.

Jay Rastogi, BSc - Ecoforester

Jay has been practicing ecoforestry at Wildwood and as a consultant since 1998. He studied Natural Resources Management and Environmental Studies at the University of Guelph and also worked at the University Arboretum. His family background includes small scale farming and forestry, and wandering the foothills of the Himalayas. Jay has a special interest in the preservation of natural and rural landscapes as well as in sharing with others the wonders of the natural world. He is interested in interactions between humans and the landscape and believes that human society can exist sustainably and in harmony within natural ecosystems.
